The latest borough-by-borough coronavirus infection rates across Greater Manchester

Coronavirus infection rates have risen in two boroughs of Greater Manchester.

Meanwhile the weekly rates have fallen in seven areas, while rates have stayed level in one area.

Stockport continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester.

The borough recorded a rate of 382.4 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending November 5, according to the latest data from the UK Health Security Agency.

The lowest infection rate is in Oldham, where the rate is 258.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 329.5 cases per 100,000 population.

The infection rate in the region is lower than the national average, which is 355.6 cases per 100,000 people.

A total of 9,343 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester in the week ending November 5.

The Greater Manchester weekly total has decreased by 705 cases compared to the previous week, which means the infection rate was down seven per cent in the last week.

The infection rate is higher than the national average in six areas of Greater Manchester. It is lower than the national average in four areas.

Hospital admissions

In the week ending on October 31, a total of 286 patients were admitted to Greater Manchester NHS hospitals with Covid-19.

That is nine more than the week before, a rise of 3 per cent.

On Tuesday November 2, there were 41 Mechanical Ventilation (MV) beds occupied by Covid patients in Greater Manchester NHS hospitals.

That is six more than a week earlier.

This is the most recent available data for hospital admissions, the figures for NHS trusts are not updated daily.

Deaths

In the week ending November 5, a total of 57 people died within 28 days of a positive Covid test across Greater Manchester, which is seven more than the week before.

Rates borough by borough

Trafford recorded 876 coronavirus cases, which is 209 fewer than in the previous seven days.

The latest infection rate in Trafford is 368.7 cases per 100,000 people and that is down 19 per cent week-on-week.

Oldham , which has the lowest infection rate in the region, recorded 615 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending November 5, which is 7 fewer than the previous seven days.

The coronavirus infection rate in Oldham is now 258.8 cases per 100,000 people and is down by one per cent week-on-week.

There was a rise of five per cent in cases in Bolton over the week ending November 5, and the infection rate is now 295.6 cases per 100,000 population.

Bolton recorded 852 positive Covid-19 tests over the seven-day period, and that is 40 more than the previous week.

In Stockport , there were 1125 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending November 5, which is 167 fewer than the previous seven days.

Stockport has the highest infection rate in the region. The infection rate in Stockport is down slightly compared with the previous day and the week-on-week trend is down by 13 per cent.

In Rochdale , the latest infection rate is 372.4 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases has gone down by seven per cent.

A total of 833 people tested positive for Covid in Rochdale over the seven days ending on November 5, which is 65 fewer than the week before.

There were 848 positive tests over the last week in Tameside , which is 125 fewer than in the previous week.

The week-on-week trend in Tameside is down by 13 per cent and the latest infection rate is 373.4 cases per 100,000 people.

The trend is up in Wigan , where there were 1200 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending November 5, which is 6 more than the previous seven days. That is up by 1 per cent compared to the previous week.

The latest infection rate in Wigan is 362.9 cases per 100,000 people, which is higher than the national average.

Bury saw a total of 689 cases in the week ending November 5, which is 178 fewer than the previous week. That is a fall of 21 per cent.

In Bury , the most recent coronavirus infection rate is now 361.3 cases per 100,000 people.

Mancheste r is an area where the trend is up. The latest infection rate here is 277.1 cases per 100,000 people.

There were 1540 cases recorded in Manchester, which is 6 more than the previous week - a rise of no per cent.

In Salford , the number of cases is down by one per cent compared to the previous week - leaving the infection rate at 291.2 cases per 100,000 population.

There were 765 positive Covid-19 tests in Salford in the week ending November 5, which was six fewer than the previous seven days.
