The Late Late Show's joke about having Ryan Tubridy and Graham Norton on one couch

Fans were loving the Late Late Show's Instagram joke about having Ryan Tubridy and Graham Norton on the same couch.

BBC host Graham Norton was being interviewed on The Late Late Show by Ryan Tubridy on Friday night.

On Instagram the official show account often shares a picture of the interviewee and Ryan ahead of or after their slot.

But the admin joked it wasn't quite as easy with the two TV hosts who instead were too busy chatting.

They first shared the original picture of the pair before a second attempt where they managed to get them to look at the camera.

They said on Instagram: "When you try and take a photo of two chat show hosts."

On Friday Graham Norton discussed his summer in West Cork, finding inspiration for his novels in small-town Ireland and how you can never escape the bonds of home.

The BBC host told Ryan Tubridy about his four and a half months at home in West Cork this summer and the death of his beloved dog, labradoodle Bailey, while here.

He said about his time in Cork: "It was lovely. I had such a gorgeous summer.

"London was quite stressful so as soon as I could I got out of there and quarantined for two weeks and never really stopped to be honest.

"You are in the middle of nowhere, you don't see anyone anyway. It has been lovely.

"It is things like having the dogs, the sea, and trees. They don't know that the world has gone to hell in a handbasket.

"It's young people I feel sorry for because I'm quite happy to sit in and stare at a wall.

"If you are young... your whole life is geared around the weekend and your friends and it was lovely weather, of course they were out... it was hard and it was stressful."
