A new podcast that profiles “female firebrands and maverick outsiders” has launched, with the first series starring the likes of Cosey Fanni Tutti, Molly Parkin, Bonnie Greer and Pamela Des Barres

The Last Bohemians sets out to showcase the stories of pioneering women in music, at a time “when older creatives are still underrepresented in the media at large”.

Kate Hutchinson, a freelance arts journalist and broadcasterconceived the idea for the series back in 2017 with photographer Laura Kelly.

Each episode is produced, photographed and interviewed by a woman. In series one, Hutchinson meets countess and LSD campaigner Amanda Feilding, who explains the medical benefits of psychedlics and also explains why she had a hole drilled in her head after learning about the ancient practice of trepanation.

British bohemian icon, painter and erotic novelist Molly Parkin – instantly recognisable for her bejewelled turbans and penchant for bold patterns – reflects on loneliness and masturbation, while legendary groupie, author and musician Pamela des Barres discusses sexual liberation via the new lens of the #MeToo movement.

The podcast is available now on Spotify, Deezer, iTunes Podcasts, Audioboom, Google Podcasts and Tune In.
