The Lakers are helping those affected by the Maui wildfires

In recent days, a rash of wildfires has devastated the Hawaiian island of Maui, destroying many homes and killing over 100 people. In particular, the one that engulfed Lahaina has caused lots of damage and death, and it has been called the worst wildfire to hit the United States in over 100 years.

The disaster has inspired many across the land to generously donate in order to help the surviving victims attempt to put their lives back together as much as they can.

In particular, the Los Angeles Lakers have pitched in. They, along with all the 11 other pro sports teams in the Southland, are committing a large sum of money to help out.

The Lakers organization became somewhat well known for holding their training camp in Hawaii over the years, especially when the late Dr. Jerry Buss owned the team.

This is just one of many charitable acts the team has performed over the years to help those in need.
