Chelsea will be hoping to have their transfer ban lifted in time for the January transfer window.
The Blues were unable to make any new signings during the summer transfer window, although that has not hampered their progress so far, with Frank Lampard's team flying high in third place in the Premier League just 12 games in.
And they will be unable to sign anyone in January if their FIFA-imposed ban remains in place.
FIFA imposed a two-window transfer ban, in which the Blues have already served one window, over finding the guilty of break regulations when it came to the transfers of youth players.
Chelsea will finally have their appeal heard at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on November 20 at their court in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Head coach Lampard has given youth a chance in the absence of new signings - something he may well have done if they had been able to make transfers anyway.
But he could give youth a chance by signing young players too.
Jadon Sancho has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with reports suggesting he has told Borussia Dortmund that he wants to leave next summer, and Chelsea have been mooted as a potential destination.
Sancho himself has admitted that he was inspired by Lampard and fellow Blues legend Didier Drogba when he was growing up, leading to speculation that he might be interested in playing under Lampard in the future.
However, there is plenty of other interest from around the top flight in England, and one club's transfer plans could scupper a Blues move for Sancho.
The big transfer talk at Anfield has been around the so-called 'Kylian Mbappe Liverpool 2020' bid.
Liverpool ace Fabinho made tongue-in-cheek comments that he would try to persuade Mbappe to join him at Liverpool resurfaced at the same time as pictures were shared of the young Frenchman with Liverpool minority shareholder LeBron James.
And as a result if you type Mbappe's name and 2020 into Google and the Liverpool fan campaign to get the French superstar to Anfield will no doubt appear at the top.
However, according to El Desmarque , Mbappe Liverpool 2020 is no longer on the cards, with the Reds believing a move is impossible and have turned their attentions instead to Sancho.
