The Knicks used a Kevin Durant photo to ask for season-ticket renewals

The New York Knicks traded Kristaps Porzingis before the deadline and will head into the offseason with plenty of cap space to make a run at two max-level free agents. Kevin Durant, for example, could be one of those free agents.

This season is beyond a lost cause, so from a marketing perspective, the Knicks have to look towards the future. Still, they made a curious photo choice when asking season-ticket holders to renew before a Feb. 28 deadline.

Durant was conveniently included.

The portal that provides more season-ticket information had a photo of Mitchell Robinson with Durant standing in the background. Another fan corroborated the image before the Knicks eventually took it down.

While there’s nothing wrong with promoting a game against the Cavaliers, there’s no reason for Durant to be included at all. He has nothing to do with that matchup.

But if Durant is hoping for the Knicks speculation to end, the Knicks ticket office didn’t do him any favors this weekend.
