The Klencke Atlas

The Klencke Atlas (c1660) at the British Library
This giant tome, which stands at 1.75 by 1.9 metres when open, is recognised in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest atlas. The king, a map enthusiast, kept the book among his favourite possessions at Whitehall Palace
