The Kings just gave us the best troll of the NBA season at the expense of Russell Westbrook

The Kings naming Russell Westbrook their “Ice cold player of the game” has to be up there with some of the greatest troll jobs in NBA history. It just has to be. Mostly because it was so accurate.

Westbrook was absolutely dreadful on Wednesday night against Sacramento. He shot 2-14 from the field and only scored eight points despite having just one turnover. It wasn’t a good game by any means.

And, look. It’s fine for players to have bad games or shooting slumps. But what makes this so funny is that the Kings called it before he event took a shot.

They do this thing with opposing players where they’ll pick a guy and name them the “Ice cold” player at the start of the game. When that player misses shots, the PA announcer trolls them with soundbites about being cold. It’s hilarious.

Obviously, Russ was the chosen one in this game. And they put it on the board for everyone to see.

Fam. That is unbelievable. I’ve never seen anything like this before. It’s so brilliant while also being slightly — just slightly — disrespectful. It is the perfect troll.
