A trailer has been unveiled for The King of Staten Island, a semi-autobiographical movie starring Pete Davidson.
The film was supposed to have a theatrical release but moved to video-on-demand due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It will be available to stream on 12 June.
The King of Staten Island stars Davidson as Scott Ready, a 24-year-old man whose father, a firefighter, died when he was a child.
In real life, the comedian, a Staten Island native, lost his father, firefighter Scott Davidson, during the 9/11 attacks. The elder Davidson, then 33, responded to the scene after a second plane struck the Twin Towers.
Scott, the protagonist in The King of Staten Island, appears to struggle with a case of arrested development following his dad’s death.
The trailer shows him attempting to find purpose in life after his mother – whom he still lives with – begins dating another firefighter.
Directed and co-written by Judd Apatow, The King of Staten Island stars Marisa Tomei, Bill Burr, Bel Powley, and Maude Apatow.
It will be released on Amazon Prime Video, Xfinity, Google Play, Apple TV, Vudu, and Fandango Now.
