The Kieran Tierney social media clue that proves his Celtic love affair is far from over

It was the transfer saga of the summer as Arsenal finally landed their man minutes before the close of the English transfer window.

Kieran Tierney has said his Celtic farewells but the Gunners' £25million man couldn't leave without a fitting goodbye.

The left-back got emotional as he shared a touching love letter to everyone who made his 15 years with the club he loves so special.

Tierney is excited about his future in the Premier League but he can't quite let go of his Parkhead roots.

The Scotland international has updated his social media status to confirm he's an Arsenal player but his profile photo remains unchanged.

And his cover image gives an insight into Tierney's Celtic love affair. The picture is of Hoops supporters during the 2003 UEFA Cup Final in Seville - years before he set out on his own first-team adventure.

It was one of the most exciting nights for fans of the Parkhead side and Tierney, who always viewed himself as a fan of the pitch, will be keeping close tabs on his former team-mates from North London.

The player himself urged for forgiveness from the Hoops faithful after joining Unai Emery's side.

He said: "I hope we can continue to have a relationship although I understand that will be never for some people which is heartbreaking for me but I understand the emotions surrounding this situation.

"It has been the hardest day or two of my life and I really appreciate every single message of support from you all."
