Arsenal have got a steal with the signing of Kieran Tierney from Celtic for just £25m.
That's according to former Arsenal winger Perry Groves and ex-Chelsea defender Jason Cundy.
Tierney has taken on the number three shirt at the Emirates after arriving from the Scottish champions, joining new Arsenal signings like Nicolas Pepe and David Luiz.
The 22-year-old is one of the highest-rated young defenders in Europe at the moment and both Groves and Cundy admitted they were impressed with Arsenal’s ability to bring him to north London without breaking the bank like many of their rivals have done.
In particular, the pair singled out Manchester United’s £50m outlay on Aaron Wan-Bissaka as an example of the going rate for young fullbacks these days.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Groves, who won two league titles during his time as a Gunner between 1986 and 1992, said:
"When you think that Wan-Bissaka goes for £50m but that's because he's played a season in the Premier League and Kieran Tierney isn't proven.
"Kieran Tierney is better going forward than Wan-Bissaka.
"Wan-Bissaka is a better defender than Kieran Tierney is."

And Cundy agreed, saying Arsenal had signed Tierney for 'cheap' after paying just half of what Man United spent on Wan-Bissaka.
"I've seen Wan-Bissaka. I've seen enough and I saw him on Sunday. The kid is class, no doubt," Cundy said.
"But I've seen Kieran Tierney as well. With what this boy's got under the bonnet, £25m is cheap. Arsenal have got a deal."
