Steven Bergwijn marked his Tottenham debut in the perfect way after netting a tremendous goal in Sunday's 2-0 win over Man City.
Clinching a move to the club last week after joining from PSV, the winger volleyed home from the edge of the area after taking Lucas Moura's pass down on his chest.
The goal sparked wild scenes inside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and his strike put the team on their way to three important points in the race for the top four.
Having been linked with the Dutch international in the past, it was Jose Mourinho who finally brought the player to the capital following his fine form in the Eredivisie.
Speaking to de Volkskrant, Fulco van Kooperen, the player's agent opened up on the transfer and the key role the head coach played in the deal.
"Steven was impressed, you suddenly see Mourinho on your phone," he said. "He knows that Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben and Memphis Depay have worked with him. But Stevie did not ask them for their opinion, he already had a good feeling with Mourinho.
"He is also known for his good relationships with the players. Moreover, Mourinho knew Steven’s qualities, he explained his playing style with Tottenham Hotspur.
"Mourinho also said that partly due to the coming European Championships, it is a good time for Steven to develop further in the Premier League. He’s ready.
"Tottenham scouts have been following him for several years. Steven meets all the conditions, he is not considered a gamble."
Asked if there is now a lot of pressure on his client to produce given Christian Eriksen's exit and Harry Kane's injury, he added: "There are no guarantees, it is above all a great challenge for Steven to be able to play football under the best conditions.
"It is almost unreal for Steven how fast it went. Players made in the winter need time to acclimatise. Steven does not have to deliver tomorrow."
