Former Chelsea star Tony Cascarino is calling on Mesut Ozil to show more fight in order to save his Arsenal career.
Ozil has only started once in the Premier League this season for Arsenal against Watford back in August, and has only started one other game since then against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup, although the playmaker was substituted in both games.
And in recent weeks the former German international has been left out of his side's matchday squads entirely.
But Cascarino, who has been critical of some of Ozil's performances for Arsenal, is calling on him to show more to prevent his Gunners career from slipping away.
“A lot has been said about [Mesut] Ozil, there’s one thing from the outside that bothers me,” the former Republic of Ireland international told talkSPORT.

“Certainly from a World Cup winner, a very experienced player, been a captain – is how comfortable he seems to feel with him saying absolutely nothing about being left out, been dropped from squads.
“And I’m not thinking there should be this huge battle and him saying things in the press.
“But I feel like there needs to be much more fight from him to be in this team or to be part of this squad.
“Some of his performances stunk of no real inner fight to actually prove that he is going to take a game by the scruff of the neck.”
