After two transfer windows of no new signings, Frank Lampard was keen to change that at Chelsea in the summer.
His demands were certainly met by Marina Granovskaia, who gave him what the Blues boss was after during his tenure.
For much of the 2019/20 campaign, Lampard was not satisfied that his forwards were not clinical enough, creating plenty of chances but failing to kill matches off.
It certainly cost them, with a leaky defence also meaning that the Blues were unable to see out the wins and pick up crucial points.
Ahead of the last January transfer window, Lampard said: “I will look at all areas of the team but I think it was quite clear in the summer that you lose Eden Hazard, who was a huge part of scoring or creating our goals last season and the season before that.
"I think we’ve found ways as a team where we can still be competitive. We’ve shown that in the league and now the Champions League.
"But if we’re looking at if we can get even better, can we get better in forward areas to help the idea of being more clinical, then I think we’ll always look at that."
While Lampard didn't get any new forwards in January, he certainly got his wish over the summer transfer window with some new stars arriving.
Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz have all come in and made a difference with the Blues, and there is one Premier League statistic which has shown he was right to do so.
Chelsea are currently averaging 2.5 goals per 90 minutes, which is the best record in the Premier League so far.
They are also equal first when it comes to goals per shot, with 0.17, something that they certainly didn't have last season.
Along with the extra solidity they have found at the back with Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell and Edouard Mendy coming into the side, it has put the Blues into an excellent position.
Currently fifth in the Premier League table, the clinical nature of their finishing means that Lampard was right to demand more strength in depth in a key position.
