The key positive of Chelsea at Spurs that Frank Lampard must replicate against Southampton

There is no doubt watching Chelsea's win over Tottenham Hotspur that it was the Blues who were the most pumped up for the match.

All of Frank Lampard's side showed great intensity from the start, while it was Spurs who looked lacklustre in front of their own supporters.

It's something that the Blues have shown this season against the 'bigger' teams.

Chelsea have put in some decent performances against the likes of Manchester United, City and Liverpool, but they failed to come away with any points.

However, for the first time this season the Blues were able to get three points to go along with an impressive performance against one of the top six.

You could see how much the win meant to the Chelsea players and to Lampard himself.

They all went over to the away section of the stadium and celebrated to the maximum before finally making their way down the tunnel.

Where Chelsea have struggled in recent weeks is against the teams they should be beating, especially in home games.

The Blues have lost to both West Ham and Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, and have lacked confidence at home.

"Southampton are in good form and Arsenal have a new manager and of course have got players that can hurt you," Lampard said.

"So both those games are going to be tough on their own merit.

"I agree that we need to particularly off the back of the few games before Tottenham we now need to show another side to our game."

"Can we get our home form where we want it to be against Southampton?"

The main thing that Chelsea and Lampard will have to bottle and reproduce will be the intensity that he side showed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It is one thing to do it against your big London rivals, but then bringing it out again is another thing.

If Chelsea can do that over the next couple of games, then they should surely come away with six points.
