The key Charlton factor that will give Nottingham Forest a boost

Nottingham Forest have been presented with a glorious opportunity to boost their .

The Reds welcome Charlton Athletic to the City Ground this evening, and go into the fixture on the back of an impressive 2-0 win over Leeds United.

Goals from Sammy Ameobi and substitute Tyler Walker sealed the three points for Sabri Lamouchi’s side, who now lie in fourth place in the table.

A win over the Addicks could see them climb into the automatic promotion places, should Leeds drop points against Brentford.

For Charlton, the past couple of months have seen them struggle to pick up wins – they have only won three league matches since October.

Their last result saw them lose 3-1 away to relegation rivals Stoke City, but they did beat Barnsley at home the week prior.

But to say that Charlton have struggled on the road this season would be an understatement.

The Addicks have won just twice away from home this season, with the last coming on August 31 against Reading.

Since then, Lee Bowyer’s side have lost nine and drawn three of their last 12 away matches - a run of form which has seen them fall to one place above the relegation zone.

Given Charlton’s struggles on the road this season, tonight’s match at the City Ground presents a chance for Forest get a win and edge closer to securing promotion to the Premier League.
