The key advice Sir Alex Ferguson gave Ole Gunnar Solskjær at Manchester United

The advice Sir Alex Ferguson gave Ole Gunnar Solskjær at Manchester United after Jose Mourinho's sacking has been revealed by a former player.

Solskjær was handed a three-year contract at Old Trafford last week after a successful spell as interim manager.

He has moved United to the edge of the top four in the Premier League and saw them progress to the Champions League quarter finals after a remarkable comeback win over Paris-Saint Germain last month

Former United defender Danny Higginbotham spoke with the United boss ahead of the game against Wolves on Tuesday evening and the Sky Sports summariser revealed his words of advice from Sir Alex.

Why Ander Herrera is not playing for Manchester United vs Wolves and Anthony Martial is a substitute

He said: “I was fortunate enough to speak to Solskjaer this morning and I asked him how he felt coming in.

"He said when he spoke to Sir Alex Ferguson before taking the caretaker role.

"He was told to go in and look after everyone at the club, not just the players.

"That’s the one thing Manchester United have always had. They’ve had a huge collective and that looks like what Solskjaer has done, bringing everyone back together."

Manchester United fans praise Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for two huge selection decisions vs Wolves
