The Katie Santry rug mystery on TikTok, explained: How her backyard videos turned into an investigation

Buckle up for this one, friends.

We’re talking about Katie Santry, who lives in Columbus, Ohio. She posted a video on TikTok wondering if her house was haunted after she found some things on her desk that were not where they were before. And then she talked about how she was digging a hole in her backyard and found a rolled-up rug.

And then … everyone told her to go to the police. She did and Columbus police brought cadaver dogs to figure out if there were human remains in the hole.

They sat, indicating … something.

From the Columbus Dispatch, here’s more:

“It could be anything,” Jennifer Watson, spokeswoman for the Columbus Division of Police, said Friday. …

Watson said the dogs could have alerted to a variety of things.

“It could be body oil,” Watson said. “It could be sweat. It could be it could be blood, like maybe a nick or a paper cut, something’s as insignificant as that. So at this time, we don’t know what we’re looking at.”

Let’s run through the videos, too:
