The spectacle over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s deleted snaps from Kris Jenner’s blowout birthday is still lurching on, morphing from a mere ‘oops’ into a full-fledged social soap opera.
Kris’ Bond-themed 70th birthday party at Jeff Bezos’ mansion drew a truly star-studded crowd and, for a brief window, fans could spot the royal couple amid the Instagram carousels of both Kim Kardashian and Kris.

What’s new and driving the headlines this week is not simply that the pictures vanished, but the ripple it’s apparently created across Hollywood’s A-list — and the fact that some of those closest to the Kardashians are reportedly “baffled” by how it’s all played out.
The Daily Mail spoke to a source that said Kim, in particular, is “pissed off”.
Apparently, Kim couldn’t understand the sudden sensitivity about pictures when, as she put it, Meghan and Harry had already been quite public at the Baby2Baby event the same night, being snapped alongside the likes of Paris Hilton and Serena Williams.

“Kim was like ‘you’ve already been papped outside and you were at the Baby2Baby event the same night being photographed… so what’s the problem?’” the source said.
It seems the Kardashian camp is surprised and confused about the supposed double standard.
The question of consent has added another layer of confusion. While some outlets, including PEOPLE, suggested that Harry and Meghan had requested no party photos of them be published, even ticking ‘no’ on a consent form, this was directly contradicted by event sources who maintain “there were no consent forms”.
That has only made more people in both the entertainment industry and royal-watching spheres try to fill the informational gaps.
Brand expert Nick Ede told DailyMail the deleted photos episode “will backfire on them and they need Hollywood support now more than ever”.
With Meghan stepping into her first film set since Suits, filming her new comedy Close Personal Friends alongside Brie Larson, Lily Collins and Jack Quaid, it’s awkward timing for things to be stirred up.
With neither side offering official public statements, the gossip and confusion is unlikely to die down quickly. But apparently there is a new line drawn between California’s two most famous families, and it seems everyone is watching to see what comes next.
