The Jude Bellingham transfer comments that spell bad news for Chelsea

Jude Bellingham expects a transfer away from Birmingham City this summer.

That is according to the MEN, who report that the young midfielder is currently favouring a move to Borussia Dortmund over Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Blues have been keen to sign the 16-year-old following a string of impressive displays for Birmingham in the Championship.

Yet the report says that the race for Bellingham's signature is now down to two, with Dortmund and Manchester United the most likely to sign him.

Bellingham would cost around £30million and he could well go back on loan to St Andrews for next season.

Dortmund's handling of exciting young players, giving them a clearly-defined path into the first team, is said to have given them the edge over United, who have a healthy amount of midfielders at the club at the moment.

Bellingham has played 36 games for Birmingham already, which is an impressive feat ahead of his 17th birthday next week.

Birmingham boss Pep Clotet, who is close to the youngster, was asked about interest in him this weekend - and he hinted that Chelsea were out of the race.

"I see him very focused on us and having a strong finish to the season," said the Birmingham manager.

"I see nothing from him that makes me believe his head is not here. I think his head is here.

"I don’t know maybe in his free time he has been having some German classes or Manchester accent classes – I don’t know. But I think he looks very confident and comfortable in his situation.

"I can’t give any insight into his transfer situation because it is something related to next season so I never even asked."
