The Jose Mourinho comments which could put him in hot water with Tottenham hierarchy

Comments made by Jose Mourinho while working as Manchester United manager could come back to haunt him after taking over as Spurs manager.

The Portuguese coach replaced Mauricio Pochettino on Wednesday morning after the Argentine coach was "relieved of his duties" on Tuesday night.

Reaction to the move from the Spurs fan base has been mixed, with some disliking Mourinho's confrontational style.

And comments that he made while acting as Manchester United manager could put him in hot water with the Spurs hierarchy.

At the beginning of his second (and final) season in charge at Old Trafford, Mourinho criticised Manchester City for their behind-the-scenes "All or Nothing" documentary with Amazon - the same series Spurs have signed up for this season.

"You can be a rich club and buy all the best players in the world but you cannot buy class," Mourinho told reporters.

"Because I am in the movie I could ask for royalties."

Spurs take on Mourinho's former club, now led by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, in his third home game in two weeks' time. That follows the away game at West Ham this weekend and clashes against Olympiacos and Bournemouth in north London.

The fixture is also set to be broadcast live on Amazon Prime, in the network's first of two rounds of live fixtures in December.
