The Jose Mourinho comments that may concern Spurs fans

Jose Mourinho has been confirmed as the new head coach of Tottenham.

the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager brings a wealth of silverware and experience to the club, but his appointment has been met with trepidation from some areas of the fan base.

Mourinho has been out of work since leaving Old Trafford almost one year ago, after results, performances and his relationships with the players took a downwards turn.

The Portuguese has often been criticised for the style of play that he brings to a club, and that was particularly evident in his last few months at the Manchester club, with the self titled 'special one' preferring a more conservative style over entertainment.

However, the style has bought him success over the years. He has won three Premier League titles during his time in England, and Tottenham will be hoping that his knack of winning silverware will continue now he is in N17.

But comments from the now Spurs boss back in 2017, after his Manchester United team had beaten Ajax to claim the Europa League may worry fans over the style of play that he could bring to the club.

Twitter reacts to Jose Mourinho becoming new Spurs manager

"Everyone said that Ajax was pretty, and that it matters a lot about the beauty of the game, and blah blah blah," Mourinho said as quoted by the Independent.

"It is beautiful for me not to give the opponent what he wants."
