The Jets wished one of their players a happy birthday and then cut him from the team

The New York Jets have only played one game this season, but what a season it has been so far.

They’ve had some issues with their kicking game, they blew a 16-0 lead at home in Week 1, and their starting QB, Sam Darnold, is now out for a few weeks with mono.

But just when you think the Jets couldn’t be any more Jets than they’ve been thus far, they go and do something only they could do – on Monday the team wished safety Bennett Jackson a happy 28th birthday and then later they cut him from the team.

Then they deleted the birthday tweet:

Ouch.
