The Jets will start Joe Flacco against the Dolphins in Week 11

The New York Jets have had quarterback issues throughout their season.

They drafted Zach Wilson out of BYU with the second overall pick in the 2021 draft and gave him the opportunity to start right away. However, in his sixth game of the season, he suffered a PCL injury.

Since then, Mike White, Josh Johnson, and Joe Flacco have all gotten opportunities with head coach Robert Saleh saying that Wilson won’t come back until he’s fully healthy.

According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the Jets are planning to start Joe Flacco against the Dolphins in Week 11.

For the Dolphins, this means that they will face an experienced NFL quarterback in this matchup. They could have taken advantage of Wilson or White who have only started nine games between the two of them, but Flacco will know how to play against Miami’s defense. The question will be whether or not he can execute.

In his career, the 36-year-old is 6-1 against the Dolphins with his lone loss coming last year. In that game, Flacco completed just 47.7% of his passes for 186 yards and interception, as the Jets fell 24-0.

While having Corey Davis and Elijah Moore is an upgrade to their receiving corps from that game, Flacco may not be able to take advantage of the situation if Miami’s defense continues to play as they did last year and have the last three weeks.
