The New York Jets made a move that not a lot of people — fans included — saw coming after a pretty good draft and free agency period for the always-bumbling franchise (although not everyone loved what they did in the last couple of months).
The team announced it had relieved general manager Mike Maccagnan of his duties and that head coach Adam Gase would be the interim GM as the franchise began the search for someone to fill the position permanently.
That led to a lot of the same jokes: Using photos of Gase’s extremely wide eyes from his first press conference with the Jets:
