The Jamie Carragher Premier League prediction Arsenal fans will hate

Arsenal's 'Invincibles' will not be the only team to go a full Premier League season unbeaten for much longer, or at least that's the view of Jamie Carragher.

The former Liverpool defender believes it is inevitable that the Gunners' unrivalled achievements of 2003/04 will be matched.

Current leaders Liverpool were being tipped to go the entire campaign unbeaten, but Watford ensured Patrick Vieira, Thierry Henry and co could once again enjoy being alone in the record books for at least one more year.

Though that won't be forever and it won't be for too much longer at all, according to Carragher.

Asked if another team will achieve an unbeaten season in the Premier League on Sky Sports' Football Show, he said: “The way I look at it is what do I think has more chance of happening in the future? I think there’s more chance of a team going unbeaten than doing what Leicester did.

"In the last two or three seasons, even this season, Liverpool could have gone the season unbeaten, Man City lost a couple of games the season before.

“Now, I think that if you lose more than three games in a league season then you’re not going to win the league. Years ago it used to be five or six games, now it’s getting shorter and tighter.

"Every season now, we’re going to have someone, maybe after Christmas, when there is going to be talk about whether they can go unbeaten.

“I think that and getting 100 points like Man City did a couple of years ago is more achievable than doing what Leicester did, getting promoted, fighting relegation, then the next season you win the league."

Carragher added: “It’s so difficult to do, you only need to lose one game, but every season it feels like someone is knocking on the door. It used to be around 85 points to win the league, now it’s more like 95, so sooner or later you think somebody is going to get the 100 points like Man City.

“Teams are getting closer to achieving these things. It’s so difficult but there’s more chance of that happening than someone doing another Leicester.”
