The Jadon Sancho Manchester United transfer jigsaw and how Chelsea have handed them the final piece

Jadon Sancho is set to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer with Manchester United leading the race to sign him.

The England star has been at the club since 2017 and reports in Germany say he is certain to leave the Westfalenstadion this summer.

United are understood to be seriously interested in bringing him back to the Premier League but faced major competition from Chelsea.

However, the Stamford Bridge club have reportedly sealed a deal for Ajax star Hakim Ziyech in the summer and that would allow United to move in for Sancho without much competition.

The Morroco international has been a key player for Ajax and can play wide or as a No.10 with Chelsea understood to have agreed a £40m fee.

Sancho turns 20 next month and has scored 17 goals in 34 games this season including eight goals in seven games during November and December.

The former Manchester City youngster took the plunge to go to Dortmund after turning down a deal at City because he wanted more playing time.

The Bundesliga outfit paid £8m to take him abroad and made his debut soon after.

He signed a new deal last August but has been heavily linked with moves back to the Premier League over the last year.

Ed Woodward has already made it clear that he will spend big money on United's transfers this summer as he looks to get the club back to the top.

Dortmund know they can make a huge profit on Sancho and are likely to demand a fee well over £100m.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men have also been heavily linked with moves for James Maddison and Jack Grealish ahead of a big summer window.
