The Ivy confirms reopening date for its roof garden after fire - and is celebrating with a £100-a-ticket party in a circus tent

The Ivy in Spinningfields has announced the date for the re-opening of its roof garden, after a fire ripped through the top floor of the lavish restaurant and bar.

The rooftop terrace will be re-opening on Monday April 15, with an exclusive circus-themed party to celebrate on Friday April 12.

'The Ivy Circus' party will be an invitation-only event for friends of the restaurant and those who signed up to the Super Party - and even then, tickets will cost you.

If you do manage to bag an invite for the extravaganza, hosted with property development company Allied London, tickets will cost £100 each, which includes canapes, drinks and entertainment.

All proceeds from ticket sales for the event will be donated to the Fire Fighters Charity.

A big top tent will be popping up in Hardman Square hosting live performances and music from 7.30pm, including flying aerial performers, tight rope walkers, jugglers and a ringmaster.

The tent will transform into a nightclub from 10pm until 1am, with flowing champagne, wine, cocktails and canapes.

With The Ivy Circus having limited capacity, the party will spill over into all three floors of the restaurant, with live music, DJs and dancers.

The Ivy Manchester - restaurant review

The restaurant is promising a carnival in the brasserie, cabaret in Ivy Asia, and a botanical party on the newly-reopened roof garden.

A spokesperson from The Ivy Spinningfields said: "We were overwhelmed by the kind and significant support from the local community following our rooftop fire earlier this year.

"As a thank you and to celebrate the re-opening of our beautiful Roof Garden, we will be hosting our Super Party at the restaurant on Friday, 12 April.

"Guests of the restaurant and the people of Manchester were asked to register their interest and we have tried to accommodate as many people as possible."

The top floor has been closed since April 4, when a blaze broke out on the roof of the Harman Square building. Most of the building re-opened within 24 hours, with the damage contained to the roof garden.
