It is fair to say that Adam Forshaw and Barry Douglas have not had much luck over the past 18 months.
Forshaw has not featured for Leeds United since September 2019 due to injury, whilst Douglas looks set to leave Elland Road this week having failed to hold down a place in the side since his 2018 move from Wolves.
Yet both players are continuing to look on the bright side of life as they shared an inspirational post on social media.
Douglas posted the image on his story and Forshaw shared it with the caption: "Not wrong fella".
The post outlined how it is difficult to feel sorry for yourself when there are people in worse positions.
Douglas posted the image with the caption 'gratitude'.
It said: "Your terrible job is the dream of the unemployed.
"Your house is the dream of the homeless. Your smile is the dream of the depressed. Your health is the dream of those who are ill.
"Don't let difficult times make you forget your blessings."
Forshaw revealed in July he was closing in on a return to action after a sizeable absence due to a long-standing hip problem, at the time saying he was only two or three weeks away from resuming full training with the first-team again.
Yet the midfielder, who was a key player for Marcelo Bielsa in his first season with the club, is yet to make an appearance for the Whites.
Douglas, meanwhile, could be on the move before the domestic transfer window shuts on Friday.
The left-back has struggled for regular football since joining the Whites in 2018 and has been linked with Watford and Blackburn Rovers.
