The indirect Champions League final flight routes you can take from Liverpool Airport

Liverpool fans are being given a handy guide in order to get them to Madrid for the Champions League final.

Almost all direct flights to the Spanish capital are now sold out but Liverpool Airport have pulled together all the information Reds supporters need to fly indirectly to see the match .

Many fans have complained this week about the rising price of flights to Europe due to the demand from those wanting to go to the match, so these new routes might also be cheaper than flying direct.

The airport also recommends the companies and tour operators that fans should use when booking direct flights.

These include World Choice Sports, Sport Options, Thomas Cook Sports, EasyJet and Ryanair.

Flying direct with Ryanair on May 31 would cost fans £399.99 but those journeys are being booked rapidly and will not be on sale for much longer.

A spokesperson for John Lennon Airport said: "Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

"Match tickets, transfers and accommodation not included unless specifically stated otherwise by the airline/tour operator.

"Flights operating from Liverpool John Lennon Airport are currently subject to slot clearance at Madrid Barajas Airport.

"Indirect flights may also be another option for fans keen to experience the buzz and excitement in Madrid.

"We've rounded up some options for departing flights!"

The indirect routes include flights departing on May 31 and June 1, getting thousands more fans to Madrid for the final.

Some of the suggestions included Liverpool - Malaga - Madrid, or Liverpool - Marrakesk - Madrid.

There are also flights available through Palma, Barcelona, Paris, Amsterdam, Geneva, Nice, Alicante, Porto, Prague, Copenhagen and Ibiza.
