The Indians correctly predicted Colin Cowherd would call out Baker Mayfield for chugging beer

There are few things more predictable in sports media than Colin Cowherd finding reason to criticize Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. The Fox Sports personality had spent much of the past year ripping Mayfield for anything and everything.

So, when Mayfield shotgunned a beer at an Indians game this weekend for the jumbotron, the Cleveland Indians knew what was coming. The team’s Twitter account posted a video of Mayfield’s beer-chug along with a mock Cowherd quote to preempt the inevitable rant.

Well, it turns out that the Indians were spot on because Cowherd did indeed spend Monday’s episode of The Herd criticizing Mayfield for chugging a beer.

Cowherd got in a few jabs at Cleveland, mocking the Indians for their lack of World Series success and saying that Mayfield was a “showman” who was waiting for that moment.

But as cool as Cowherd tried to play off his whole Mayfield rant, he sort of played himself because he still acknowledged that Mayfield chugged a beer and fit in some room for critique. Cowherd just couldn’t let this one go.

And because of that, the Indians easily won this entire ordeal.
