Why Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is more important to Arsenal than Harry Kane is to Tottenham

The debate between Arsenal and Tottenham fans rages on - who is better, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Harry Kane?

There will be no two definitive answers from both camps, but what cannot be denied is just how important the Gabon striker is to his team.

Aubameyang is joint second in the race for the Golden Boot, alongside Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane on 17 goals for the season.

Those four players are just one behind leader Sergio Aguero with eight games of the campaign to go.

But it's not just the number of goals scored that are worth looking at, it's about how important those goals have been to their sides too.

And in that regard, Arsenal striker Aubameyang is more important than the rest.

According to sportingbet, the 29-year-old former Borussia Dortmund frontman has had the biggest impact on his team this season - being far more influential than the other players gunning for the Golden Boot.

For without Aubameyang, the Gunners would be a lot worse off.

Aubameyang's goals have won Arsenal more points than any other goalscorer this season. His 17 goals have been directly responsible for the Gunners winning 14 more points than they would have done without him in the side.

The only other player in the Premier League to coming close to having that kind of impact on a side is Newcastle's Salomon Rondon, without whom the Magpies would be 12 points worse off.
