Chelsea have the best record in the opening month of the Premier League season, according to latest statistics.
Research from bettingexpert shows that Chelsea dominate the all-time August table, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal rounding off the top-four summer performers.
The Blues have played 91 games in the month of August, taking an average of 2.18 points from the games and averaging a league-high 1.98 goals per-fixture.
Arsenal finish in fourth place in the table, with an average of 1.79 points-per-game and 1.72 goals-per-game, while Spurs come out in seventh, despite having played the most amount of games in the month. Over the Lilywhites 95 outings in the month, they average 1.46 points-per-game, scoring 1.17 goals.
It is not just Tottenham as a team who are below par in August, with star striker Harry Kane ending his record of not scoring in the month just last season when he scored the third goal in a 3-1 victory over Fulham.
West Ham United and Crystal Palace are in the bottom half of the table, with average points of 1.07 and 0.81 respectively - in fact the Eagles are in the third relegation place, both will be hoping for better starts to the campaign this season.
The Premier League action kicks off again this weekend, with Chelsea facing a trip to Old Trafford to take on the club with the second best record in August, Manchester United.
Arsenal take on Newcastle United at St James' Park while Tottenham host newly promoted Aston Villa in their first full season in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
