The incredible pay rise Daniel James will reportedly receive at Man Utd

Daniel James' transfer to Manchester United is close to completition.

On Thursday he arrived at United's Carrington training base before he flew out with his Wales team-mates to Croatia for their Euro 2020 qualification double-header.

James' stunning rise to prominence has been well documented , making the youngster one of the hottest properties in football. A £15million deal - plus £3million in add-ons - is believed to be the financial package on the table. Hull City - from who James was signed - are set to bank around £750,000 from the deal.

It represents excellent business for Swansea City - and for the player himself.

According to national media reports , James' wages will increase from £4,000 a week to £67,000 - a whopping 1,575% hike.

James' national team boss Ryan Giggs says he is in good shape despite the transfer upheaval on top of the personal anguish he has suffered over the past few weeks.

The 21-year-old's father passed away suddenly, with Wales giving him as much time as necessary to be with his family.

"He's fine, he's trained well. Obviously after the terrible news we had to be flexible and everything was on the table" .

"I spoke to him numerous times over the last 10 days or so.

"He didn't come to Portugal but met up with us to train in Wrexham. He went home on Thursday but he's fine, he's in a good place.

"He's assured me that he's ready to play but we'll have to see how we go.

"He's a level-headed lad. I agree, a lot has gone on over the last 10 days. But he's been fine around the group so we'll just have to see whether he starts but football-wise he's trained well and I'm really happy."
