The incredible numbers behind Spurs' Champions League heroics ahead of Liverpool showdown

Sunday's game against Everton will now not be Spurs' last fixture of the season following their Champions League victory over Ajax.

Looking set to go out of the group stage of the competition back in December after a nightmare start, the team will now take on Liverpool to win Europe's top prize.

With all Spurs fans firmly focused on the final in Madrid on Saturday, June 1, it will be quite a while before it comes around as the team will have to wait another 20 days after Sunday's final match of the league season against the Toffees.

Tipped by many to go out in all three of their knockout ties against Borussia Dortmund, Man City and Ajax, the team have shown their never-say-die attitude countless times in the competition to put the club on the cusp of something very special.

Late goals have certainly been key for the team in the Champions League, especially in the group stage as we wouldn't be talking about a final had it not been for some crucial goals from the likes of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Lucas Moura.

The team have continued to score late on in the knockout stages, with Lucas' stoppage-time winner remarkably clinching a place in the showpiece finale against Liverpool.

Spurs' knack of fighting until the bitter end can be seen by fact that 50 per cent of their 20 goals in this season's competition have come in the final 30 minutes of games since they started their campaign in the San Siro all the way back in September.
