'The Incident at Galley House'
Released on July 14, 2026, "The Incident at Galley House" is a point-and-click horror game developed by William Rous and Evil Trout Inc. The game is published by Evil Trout Inc. This game is actually the remake of "Type Help," a text-based browser game that was released in 2025.
"The Incident at Galley House" is set in 1936 at Galley House, where a horrific crime took place. Fast forward to the present and you as the player has access to a contraption that lets you listen to the echoes of the past.
It is your job, therefore, to figure out what had happened in 1939.

Has the "Type Help" remake been a hit among the critics?
Polygon's Giovanni Colantonio says in his review that "'The Incident at Galley House' finds its slow-simmering horror in the idea that a human will inevitably become an unidentified silhouette in a digital graveyard once there's no one left to hold on to their soul."
"'Type Help' arguably hits that feeling harder through its haunting minimalism, but The Incident at Galley House still leaves an impression," Colantonio adds. "By its conclusion, you'll have put names and faces to a cast of ghosts entombed in a database. Call it an exorcism or a resurrection — either way, it's an act of God."
Metacritic has given the game a score of 84 based on eight critic reviews as of press time.
Sifter gave in a perfect score of 100, describing the game as "a detailed, fantastic mystery puzzler that gives the player all the tools they could need and should be used as a blueprint for future developments in the genre."
KonsoliFIN, on the other hand, gave it a score of 90, saying that "Towards the end, a few puzzles feel overly difficult compared to the rest of the experience, and the conclusion drags on a bit too long."
"Despite these minor flaws, 'The Incident at Galley House' is an excellent summer mystery—offering just the right level of challenge, an intriguing plot, and a unique overall feel," KonsoliFIN adds. "That is certainly something worth praising."

With more than 2,800 user reviews as of press time, Steam has classified the reviews of "The Incident at Galley House" as "Overwhelmingly Positive."
"Great game, definitely a very high recommendation for all fans of the genre," Steam user Milena says in a review. "The mystery is intriguing and you can deduce logically how everything unfolds, resulting in a very satisfying experience."
"For fans of the 'Obra Dinn,' or the 'Roottrees'; 'The Incident at Galley House' is a must buy," Jarik Spiegel says in a separate Steam review. "It's a great mystery with a very neat story which comes together very satisfyingly. It hits the right amount of spooky yet grounded to keep you feeling just a little on edge as you piece together what really happened on that fateful night."
