Comedy The Inbetweeners has mysteriously been removed from a streaming platform with all content from the show taken down.
The name of the show became the top Twitter trend on Thursday as speculation mounts over the decision to pull the iconic programme, which starred Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison and James Buckley.
It enjoyed a three-season run on Channel 4 and E4 and two spin-off movies were filmed. The popular comedy also boasted 222,000 subscribers to its YouTube channel, reports BirminghamLive.
But the show, which also starred Greg Davies, Emily Atack and Emily Head, has been removed from YouTube and its fans have reacted with fury.
Its official YouTube channel now shows the statement "This channel doesn't have any content".
There are conflicting reports on social media why the programme was removed, with some suggesting it is for copyright reasons. Others, however, have claimed it is due to complaints.
The shock removal of content follows the decision to axe shows Little Britain and Come Fly with Me from Netflix, BritBox and BBC iPlayer because of the portrayal of ethnic minorities, and in some cases, use of blackface.
Similarly, the Mighty Boosh and The League of Gentlemen have also had episodes taken down from streaming services.
Speaking about Little Britain, a BBC representative said: "Times have changed since Little Britain first aired so it is not currently available on BBC iPlayer."
Yesterday, Ant & Dec also issued a grovelling apology over their portrayal of black characters during sketches on their programmes.
