The importance of healthy squad highlighted as latest Notts County injury update explained

Luke Williams was on hand to deliver a positive injury update on Notts County duo Cedwyn Scott and Junior Morias ahead of their Easter weekend double-header against Wealdstone and Wrexham.

Scott has been missing for the Magpies for over two months after initially picking up an injury during the win over Barnet at Meadow Lane, but on his return to first-team action suffered another setback which has ruled him out since the start of February.

On the other hand, newest recruit Morias arrived from Dagenham and Redbridge almost a month ago but has not featured for Notts after arriving from Victoria Road with a slight injury problem.

This has put further emphasis on the importance of the National League's top scorer Macaulay Langstaff, scoring 14 times in his last 10 appearances, including scoring in six consecutive fixtures in the build-up to their clash with Stuart Maynard's side - breaking a club record in the process for the most goals in league season away to Altrincham.

However, with two games in the space of four days, one including a potential title-deciding fixture at the Racecourse Ground, the Notts head coach was able to provide a positive update on both Scott and Morias ahead of the final five games of the season.

"Of course, they will be important because, at the moment, my anxiety is very high because Macaulay is on the pitch every minute - and as you know if he does the business he normally comes off.

"I think he is very relieved to be picking up more minutes but of course as a head coach, you always worry about having the reinforcements and firepower to be able to sustain anything that might come our way.

"It's great news to see both these guys out on the pitch and fully training with the squad.

"We have a good idea of their conditioning so it's great news for this period of the season, now it is going to be very important for us to have a healthy squad."
