The Ig Nobel tour 2006

Blogs aren't mean't for blatant plugs for other things, but we'll make an exception in this case. The man who bring us our regular does of Improbable Research is hitting the UK tour for another sellout tour.

In association with Education Guardian and the British Association for the Advancement of Science, Marc Abrahams will be with us on his 2006 Ig Nobel tour "honouring" those academics who are on the ... erm ... fringes of academic work.

On top of that, there will be other great scientists, musicians, and thinkers and the Great Intelligence Debate - with each debater explaining why he or she is the smartest person in Britain.

Besides being as good an evening as you can have with your lab coat on, it gives us a chance to revisit the best homosexual necrophiliac duck story that we ever did. Which, besides encouraging you to book yourself an evening in Oxford, Edinburgh, St Andrews, Warrington or London, is as good a reason for a post as any.
