Former Romania boss Christoph Daum can't understand why Ianis Hagi isn't starting every week as he notes Rangers "are not Manchester City".
The playmaker has hit six goals and provided nine assists for the Premiership champions but has started just 20 of 33 games so far.
And while the former national team boss respects Steven Gerrard 's choices, he is at a loss to explain why Hagi isn't starting every week.
Daum told Playsport : "He is a very talented player.
"Sometimes I watch Glasgow Rangers matches and he is not in the starting XI and I don't understand why.
"Glasgow (sic) are not Manchester City...
"I don't understand how he can train and how he can develop his performances, given that he is not always in the first XI.
"Of course, we accept Gerrard's choices, but we all know that Ianis is an excellent and very talented player."
The midfielder, son of Romania's greatest player Gheorghe Hagi, hit his first goal for the national team last week.
