The huge profit West Ham could make if they sold Declan Rice

Should West Ham choose to sell Declan Rice this summer, or at any stage, then we know they can command a significant fee for their brightest talent.

The 21-year-old has been a huge success at the Hammers since breaking through from the academy at the end of the 2017/18 season, going on to become a West Ham and now England regular in midfield.

His excellent form for club and country has seen the big boys circle, with former club Chelsea and also Manchester United linked with making big-money transfer moves for the midfielder.

Football.London understands that while every West Ham player has a price this summer, Rice is at the bottom of the list of players the club wants to let go.

If an offer did come in then it would have to be in excess of £70million for the club to even consider parting ways and there are plenty of other players ahead of Rice that the club could sell to raise funds in what is expected to be a turbulent financial summer off the back of the back of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rice is under contract in east London until the summer of 2024, with an option to extend that for a further year into 2025.

Seemingly, the Hammers’ £70million price tag they have slapped on Rice’s head is about right, according to the CIES Football Observatory transfer value list .

The list presents the 100 big-five league players (Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1) with the highest estimated transfer values, according to their own algorithm.

Rice’s name comes up in the top 100 players with a value of €64.5m, which obviously represents an enormous potential profit on a player that came through the Hammers academy at Chadwell Heath.

Rice is the only Hammers player to feature on the CIES list which is headed by, unsurprisingly, PSG hitman Kylian Mbappe who has a reported transfer value of an eye-watering €259.2million.

Raheem Sterling is in second spot with a value of €194.7million ahead of Jadon Sancho (€179.1million), Trent Alexander-Arnold (€171.1million) and Marcus Rashford (€152.3million).
