It's been a scorching start to the bank holiday weekend - and for most places it's set to get hotter.
The Met Office has forecast high temperatures for the whole of the North East for the rest of Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Forecasters say that the hottest weather will be seen in the south of the region on Sunday, while on Monday it's good news for those nearer the coast.
The areas closest to the Yorkshire border could even hit 30C on the thermometer.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "The weather over the next couple of days will be fairly similar to today.
"There'll be a little bit of cloud opening up over the next couple of days, but it's not really until we get to Tuesday that there's a risk of some showers.
"Temperature wise, today will go up to about 25C, in areas including Newcastle Airport and Durham .
"This could potentially go up to 26C or 27C in the afternoon.
"Tomorrow the temperature climbs a little bit more, reaching 27C/28C. Closer towards the Yorkshire border it could just scrape 30C, whereas in the north of the region it will be 25-27C.
"On Monday the heat's going to be restricted to the coast, over inland in areas such as Hexham it will be mid-20s, but the eastern coast will still be high 20s."
