Dramatic pictures show the horrific aftermath of a three-car smash in Bury.

Those involved escaped with only minor injuries.

Firefighters cut the roof off one vehicle to rescue to driver following the smash on Bury New Road in Whitefield.

The car was completely destroyed.

The front of another vehicle was left badly damaged.

Police, firefighters and ambulance crews were all pictured at the scene.

Nobody was seriously hurt, police said.

The driver cut from his car by firefighters complained of a 'neck injury', officers added.

The crash - between a VW, Skoda and Nissan Qashqai - happened on Wednesday (July 15).

An investigation has been launched. 

GMP Traffic posted about the incident on Twitter, along with photos of the damaged cars.

Officers wrote: "Vehicle road traffic collision on Bury New Road, Whitefield.

"Amazingly, minor injuries only. Enquiries ongoing."

PC Paul Ashworth, from the Roads Policing Unit, added: "One driver was complaining of neck injury.

"As a precaution, the fire brigade extracted them from the car."
