In pictures: The worst drought in 40 years

More than 36 million people have already been impacted across Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia, and millions more are at severe risk of food insecurity.
In Kenya, two of Lokiyoto Ekal's children died four months ago due to the drought.
"I've lost two of my children because of the drought. The livestock also died due to the lack of rains, I remained with nothing to feed my children. I survive on wild fruits only. It has been very hard to access water. It normally takes me five hours to fetch get water from the truck," Ms Ekal, aged 30, said.
