The Hoff will not return to Nottingham this Christmas in Scrooge - as all show dates are CANCELLED

There's still six months to go but it seems Christmas has already been cancelled, well sort of.

All show dates for Scrooge: A Funny Family Spectacular - starring David 'The Hoff' Hasselhoff  - have been scrapped amid "production issues".

Motorpoint Arena ticket-holders have been contacted by the venue apologising for "any disappointment or inconvenience caused".

The Christmas extravaganza was due to tour the UK and should have been touching down in the city on December 28 for two back-to-back shows.

The production was to have a 100-strong cast of West End leading actors, live musicians, dancers, acrobats, comedians, musical clown Charlie Cairoli Jr and 70 children and teenagers from The Pauline Quirke Academy.

It was the latest offering from the producers behind last year's Elf: A Christmas Spectacular, and was due to feature a hologram of Birds of a Feather star Pauline Quirke as the Ghost of Christmas Past.

Tickets were priced between £27.50 and £55. All ticket holders will be receiving a refund.

An email seen by Nottinghamshire Live about the cancellation reads:

"Regretfully we must inform you that the current tour dates for Scrooge: The Funny Family Spectacular have been cancelled due to production issues.

"We apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience that this may cause.

"Tickets purchased directly from us will be refunded within the next 10 working days. Any cash refunds will be sent a cheque by 2nd class post."

A similar statement is on the venue's website, where tickets are no longer on sale.
