The historic Cheshire train station hotel up for sale - for a whopping £3.75m

A historic train station hotel in Cheshire has gone up for sale - and it can be yours for just £3.75m.

The Chester Station Hotel dates back to 1880 and boasts 75 en-suite rooms alongside a restaurant, bar and several lounge areas.

It even has a meeting room that’s said to be big enough to hold a small wedding reception, reports CheshireLive.

The building was erected by the London & North Western Railway to replace the former Royal Hotel. The new Station Hotel was formerly opened by the Prince of Wales in June 1880.

A large clock commemorating the royal visit was placed in the station circulating area facing the sea and has since been positioned at the front of the building.

Situated on City Road, the hotel building is right by the nearby railway station alongside a number of shops and motorways.

The hotel building has been marketed for sale by estate agent Christie and Co, who say it’s location next to Roman walls and museums has meant it has been an ideal visitor location for years.

The listing reads: “The Chester Station Hotel operates under the Sure Hotel Collection brand by Best Western.

“This purpose-built hotel originally from 1880 offers 75 guest bedrooms on the upper floors along with a restaurant, bar, several lounges ideal for private dining, and a meeting/function room big enough to hold a small wedding reception.

“Appropriately named, the proximity to Chester Station being adjacent is of great benefit to this substantial hotel.”
