Roy Hodgson's spell at Liverpool isn't exactly remembered as a good one and now a former player at Anfield has claimed that Hodgson sold a player by mistake to make it just that little bit more strange.
Alexander Kacaniklic was an Academy member of the squad during Hodgson's six-month spell at Liverpool and was used as part of a deal to get Fulham's Paul Konchesky, along with fellow team mate Lauri Dalla Valle who would go to the Cottagers.
Only this was news for Hodgson, who allegedly believed it was a different 'Alex' he was getting rid of as part of the deal and not Kacaniklic.
How that happens, one does not know.

It's not clear who the other Alex is that Kacaniklic is talking about, but if the story is true is must surely represent one of the biggest transfer gaffes in the history of football.
Speaking to podcast Lundh, Kacaniklic spoke about the phone conversation he had with Hodgson when the manager found out it was the wrong player.
"It was a bit difficult for Liverpool to replace me," he said.
"When I was in Fulham and before I signed up, I had a conversation with Roy Hodgson on the phone, where we found out that he had changed the wrong Alex.
"In his head, he thought he changed another Alex for Konchesky. But then it was too late. It’s a little funny.
"Then he just told me I was welcome back in Liverpool with open arms, but that I should do what I felt.
"I did not [go back]. Then I had already changed my mind and was very excited about coming to Fulham."
