The highest earning Christmas movies to watch this December

When the weather gets colder in December and Christmas starts to draw closer, there's no better way to get into the spirit than hunkering down with a good movie.

From traditional Christmas flicks adored by all, to those personal favourites that have a special place in families' hearts, we all have a favourite film when it comes to the holiday season.

But there are some that have done much better than others.

IMDb, the online data base of information for films and TV programmes, put together a list of the highest grossing Christmas movies.

Whether nostalgic, traditional, comedic or a combination of all three, there's no denying a Christmas film can be a guaranteed winner when it comes to the box office.
