ESPN’s 10-part documentary series, The Last Dance, has been doing its part to fill the sports void in our lives right now. And if anything is to be taken from the series aside from all the “Michael Jordan Really Wanted To Win At All Costs” stories, it’s the memes.
Sunday’s ninth installment waited little time to make its contribution.
As the episode was setting the scene for the hostile crowd in Indianapolis for the 1998 NBA playoffs, we were treated to a heckling fan who was going absolutely ballistic on the Bulls. The woman, who was seated near courtside, immediately became a meme.
She’s the “OG Karen.”
She would have been a meme in 1998 if Twitter existed, so it’s better late than never, I guess.
