The heartbreaking pictures from inside Cardiff City Stadium as players and fans come to terms with relegation

Cardiff City are officially relegated after a 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace , killing their hopes of Premier League survival.

The Bluebirds went into their last game of the season on home soil in full knowledge that three points was the only way to keep their survival hopes alive.

But Roy Hodgson's side proved to be too much for them at Cardiff City Stadium, with Cardiff just not fully capitalising on their chances.

An own goal from Palace's Martin Kelly and a late shot from Bobby Reid accounted for Cardiff's side of the scoresheet, but efforts from the Eagles' secured a win and mean Brighton are officially safe and will be in the Premier League next season.
